Watch for lead in your lipstick
If you wear lipstick you already know the perils of finding the right shade and texture for your lips. Did you know you also need to be aware that many commercial brand have lead amounts above the FDA limits?
Dr. Kim posted an extremely informative article on the dangers of this type of lead ingestion:
The problem is that according to the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics’ report, the average woman who wears make-up eats approximately 4 pounds (1.81 kilograms) of lipstick during her lifetime via drinking, eating, and kissing. - this unnecessary exposure to lead can ultimately contribute to the development of a variety of health problems.
There are many symptoms of lead poisoning, including: fatigue, headaches, hearing problems and abdominal pains. Contact your health care provider if you feel you’ve been exposed to lead and are suffering from the above symptoms.
