Touch helps children
There is an amazing new practice being experimented with in various classroom setting around the world and it’s making a huge impact on the chlldren who experience it. What many are calling Peaceful Touch is simply the experience where teachers facilitate children touching other children with simple, nurturing strokes. The results? This form of therapy has shown evidence of decreased aggression, depression and anxiety; helping foster attachment; and helping children identify healthy touch so they are less vulnerable to abuse, and less likely to be prematurely sexually active.
The results of recent analysis of this possible pioneering practice was reported on in Massage Therapy Journal. You can read the article in it’s entirety here.
