Do you suffer from GAS?
GAS in this case is General Adaptation Syndrome, the system the body goes through when it’s severely affected by stress. Stress being anything that challenges the body’s ability to stay healthy. Some of the stressful challenges that can create GAS include:
Financial worries
Family Strife
Relationship problems
Job or career strains
Bad eating habits
Addictive dependency
When the body is experiencing GAS, it goes through three phases:
The Alarm Phase - An outpouring of adrenal hormones which increases energy.
The Resistance Phase - The body trying to adapt to stress uses more energy and slowly weakens.
The Exhaustion Phase - Gradual depletion and breakdown of the body’s natural coping skills.
Luckily, these symptoms are reversible with good nutritional habits, adequate rest, exercise and, of course, massage therapy. If you feel you are suffering from these symptoms or just want to learn more about how to reverse them, contact me.
